Gininwa Condoles Eze Eyiba…Urges FG to complete the construction of East West road

Chairman of Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers, King Godwin Gininwa has commiserated with Eze Joshua Eyiba, Head of Okogbe clan in Ahoada West Local Government Area over the death of about 202 persons in a petrol tanker fire disaster that happened in the community recently.
Speaking at the palace of Eze Joshua Eyiba at Okogbe, King Gininwa described the incident as most unfortunate as the loss has thrown the community into a deep mourning and prayed God to grant them the fortitude to bear it.
“We are here to console you and your council of chiefs on behalf of the Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers, knowing that you are one of us. We have also come to say sorry and that you should take heart as it is only God that can console you. Please, extend our condolence to the bereaved families and the entire clan. God will strengthen you” he added.
King Gininwa who is also the Gbenemene Tai Kingdom and President, Supreme Council of Ogoni Traditional Rulers used the opportunity to appeal to the federal Government to urgently complete the construction of the East West road as some of the accidents that claimed lives could have been averted if the road were in good condition.
In his response, Eze Joshua Eyiba thanked the Chairman, Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers King G.N.K. Gininwa for joining millions of Nigerians to sympathize with the Igbudioya people on the tragic incident stating that his visit was very timely.
He narrated the story of the petrol tanker disaster and pointed out that the poor state of the road contributed to the deaths.
“We have been crying to the Federal Government for a time long over the state of the road but nothing has been done. Please help to add your voice. We need help.”
“For you the number one King in the State to have made it here today, we thank you. This death is very painful,” he lamented.
King Gininwa was accompanied on the visit by His Majesty King Kaleb M.O. Obuge, Oda Abuan, a member of the Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers.
