The contribution and commitment of the former Chief of Staff to the Rivers State Government and present Minister of Education for State, to the development of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, has been described as one without comparison for now.
This disclosure was made by Chief Anthony E. Wosu, whose installation as the Eze Otu-Onu of Ekinigbo Clan was done by HRM. Eze Amb. S. N. Wall JP, Eze Oha of Apara Kingdom, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, as a result of his personal contribution to the development of the clan, despite the stool of Oroporoma that is in court.
Eze Otu-Onu attributed the relative peace that is being enjoyed in Ekinigbo Clan to the Christian life of HRM. Eze S. N. Wall, adding the issue of peace and stability in the clan as paramount in every gathering of the Council of Chiefs. He added that the peaceful reign of Eze S. N. Wali has made it impossible for him to be ridiculed, despite challenges, making Ekinigbo the wish of every non-indigene in the state, as a place.
Speaking further on the former Chief of staff, Eze Wosu commended Chief Barr. Wike for his contribution to the people of Ekinigbo Clan, which he said has no rival for now, and the reason he was supported by all, when he was nominated for a chieftaincy title, despite his indigenous home of Rumueperikom.
He pointed Eli-Apara, the meeting point of all title holders at Rumudolu, as one of the many glaring strides of Chief-Nyesom Wike, adding that they are praying for him to succeed, not to forget Apara Kingdom, his domain and to ensure carrying the entire people of Ikwerre Ethnic Nationality along.
Responding to the appointment of another Chief of State from Ekinigbo Clan, Chief Anthony admitted it to be a blessing to the people of his clan, adding that promises have been made on how the area could be developed, which they are all watching to see, pointing out that the people of Rumeperikom are already saying that it’s now the turn of Ekinigbo to reciprocate the good gesture of Chief Nyesom Wike. He maintained that they are praying for Hon. Tony Okocha, the new Chief of Staff, Government House, to succeed, in as much as he identified and was blessed by HRM. Eze S. N. Wall when he was appointed and sworn-in to Otu-Onu noted that Hon. Tony may have people trying to mislead him as a human being, but believed that at the end of the day, he will not afford to forget Ekinigbo where he came from.
He used the medium of his interaction with our correspondent to commend Prince Timothy E. Nsirim JP, the Executive Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, on the International Market that he is building at Rukpokwu area of the Council, his support to widows amongst others.
Eze Wosu’s commendation also went to the Executive Governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, whom he described as a fearless man that never looked at anybody’s face, while doing those things he felt would bring the dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
He however enjoined the youths of Ekinigbo to take the issue of education serious, a foundation that was laid for them by the late Obi Wall, as the only means to elevate them to those positions of their choices that they would want to attain. Wosu further urged them to continue to sue for peace, which will serve as an enablement for HRM. Eze Wali to speak on their behalf before the State Government and the companies operating in their various communities in order to have what is due for them and to always observe and respect the slogan “Ekinigbo-Ekinigbo” which stands for peace and reconciliation in the clan. ###
