Apostle Ogu Ends Tripple Celebrations…As Gov. Amaechi Urges Him to Be More Dedicated To God

The week-long triple celebration of Apostle Eugene Ogu, the General Overseer of the Abundant Life Evangelical Mission (ALEM), has ended in Port Harcourt with a charge by Governor Rotimi Amaechi that the Apostle be more dedicated to God.
The Apostle was celebrating his 27th year in the ministry, the 24th anniversary of ALEM and his 50th birth day.
Speaking at the end of the programmes, the governor of Rivers State noted that being dedicated more to God was a way to attract more blessings from God and congratulated him for his 50th birthday celebration.
Governor Amaechi who recalled how God has elevated Apostle Ogu from grass to grace with numerous favours, emphasized that he could not afford to play with God.
Governor Amaechi urged him not to be cold in God’s vineyard rather should be more committed to the service of God.
According to him, “you must stay in the presence of God and be committed to God’s service; other people will be richly blessed through you.”
The chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), prayed that God should give Apostle Ogu more strength and wisdom to continue his good works, while applauding him for rendering selfless service to the less privileged and widows. He stressed that Apostle Ogu cannot afford to slack back since a lot of people are looking upon him as their role model and minister of God.
He presented a cheque of N60m to the widows who were present in the service.
In his speech, Apostle Ogu thanked governor Amaechi, his wife, Dame Judith Amaechi, his deputy, Engineer Tele Ikuru, Hon. Senator Magnus Abe, the senator representing Rivers South East senatorial district in the Senate, for their physical presence in the service, stressing that their presence added more colour to the celebration.
Apostle Ogu commended governor Amaechi for the wonderful transformation of the state.
The General Overseer of ALEM said governor Amaechi’s administration was a divine one and that God was using him to do what he was doing in the state.
In a chat with journalists, Apostle Ogu expressed joy for the successful triple celebrations.
He recalled his poor background which made him to end his education in primary four, noting that his poor background and God’s favour in him led him to succeed in life. He said he made up his mind to assist the less privileged, the widows, the down trodden, who he referred to as members of his former constituency.
Similarly, in a chat with journalists, His Royal Highness, Eze Ejikeme Wali, the paramount ruler of Mgbusilaru, while congratulating Apostle Eugene Ogu on his successful triple celebrations, recalled his selfless services to humanity, stressing that God was using him to improve the lives of the less-privileged and prayed God to give him strength and knowledge to do more.
The week long triple celebrations from July 15, to July 22, 2012, witnessed the presentation of three books, “The Price, Shaping Your Future and Seed of Chance” authored by Apostle Eugene Ogu. Lectures delivered include “The Price Of True Leadership”, by Prof. B. B. Fakae, Vice Chancellor RSUST, and “Develop Good Leadership From The Cradle”, by Prof. B.E.B Nwoke AG, Vice Chancellor, Imo State University.
The ceremony was attended by personalities including Sir. Chukwumela Nnam Obi the II, the Eze Oba of Ogba land, HRH Robinson O. Robinson, among others. ###
