Teenager And One Other Docked For Attempted Robbery

A teenager, Hope Uche Adua, l7 years, and Michael Osayande, 22 years, are standing trial before Chief Magistrate E.C Woke for attempted robbery on charge No. PMC/1417C/20l2.
On count one, the accused persons were said to have on June 13, 2012, at Graceland Avenue, Oyigbo, in the Port Harcourt magisterial district, conspired amongst themselves to commit felony to wit: attempted robbery and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 576 (A) of the Criminal Code Cap 37, Laws of Rivers State of Nigeria 1999.
On count two, the accused persons were also said to have on the same date and place in the aforesaid magisterial district attempted to rob one Achomadu Collins ‘m’ of his valuables while armed with a locally made revolver pistol and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 403 (A) of the Criminal Code Cap 37 Vol. II Laws of Rivers State of Nigeria 1999.
After reading the charges to the accused persons, the presiding magistrate ordered that the case file of the accused persons be forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice. Meanwhile, the accused persons have been remanded in prison custody and the case adjourned to August 24, 2012, pending on the advice from the DPP. ###
