Rumuchiworlu Community Commissions N50m Iboloji

The people of Rumuchiworlu, Iboloji Community of Rumuigbo, in Obio/Akpor LGA of Rivers State, on July 7, 2012, commissioned and launched her N50m Iboloji Multi-Purpose Hall, situated in Egeonu Street, Rumuigbo.
Presenting his address, the Chairman of Rumuchiworlu, Iboloji Community, Mr. Iyke Chukwu, called on the audience to join hands in thanking Almighty God, who made it possible for him to remain and serve the Rumuchiworlu (Iboloji) Community as Chairman, despite all odds, and for the reality of the day.
He expressed gratitude to God for the project, noting that many who initiated the idea were no longer alive to share in the joy.
He commended Dr. Alwell Ome-Egeonu, KGS, whose coronation as the Paramount Ruler of Rumuchiworlu (Iboloji) Community, by HRM. Eze, Sir, Amb. S.N. Wali JP, Eze Oha Apara, Paramount Ruler Apara Kingdom, took place on August 18, 2010, for making the promise to ensure the completion of the Community Hall that started way-back in the 70’s, within two years.
The commissioning was done by HRM Eze S.N. Wali JP, ably represented by HRH Eze C.A. Amadi Wodo, Paramount Ruler of Ekinigbo Clan, while the dedication was done by Pastor Henry Amadi, indigene and Senior Pastor of Light House Ministry in Rumuigbo, who also used the medium to congratulate the people of Rumuchiworlu Iboloji Community for the awesome edifice, urging the youths to remain violent free, not to join wrong camps, but to always remain where the elders are.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the occasion, Chief Nyeche Amadi of Rumuwike Community in Obio/Akpor LGA, commended the people for the actualization of their vision, urged the Paramount Ruler, Eze Ome-Egeonu to carry everyone along, irrespective of their grievances and called on the state and local governments to provide job opportunities for the youths of the state, as a way of curbing the menace of cultism and other social vices in the society.
Sir Sam Wodi (KSC) JP, on his part, described the event as wonderful and excellent, stressing the importance of having a nucleus where all could rally around to discuss the way forward for their communities, adding that people may have different opinions or views, politically or otherwise, what matters being their ability to have the spirit of working and moving together as a family, affirming that Iboloji Multi-Purpose Hall was worthy of emulation by other communities.
Chief Anthony Wosu, Eze Egeonu of Ekinigbo, said they came for support and enjoined the Paramount Ruler and Chairman of the Community to ensure peace and unity amongst members of the community, adding that any house that is divided amongst itself will be bound to crumble.
Speaking also, Hon. Bright Ahamewhule C., Councilor representing Ward 12, in Obio/Akpor LGA, of Rivers State, said the community’s effort was encouraging, and he would urge his Community to follow suit. He described the political situation in Obio/Akpor as positive, lauding the council’s political leader, Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike, Hon. Minister of Education for state and the Executive Chairman of Obio/Akpor LGA, Prince Timothy Nsirim JP, and promised to take words back to him (Timothy) on what he saw. He said the youths of Obio/Akpor are learned, respectful and violent-free people, calling all and sundry to continue in their support for Governor Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi.
Speaking with our correspondent at the end of the event, the Chief Host, Dr. Allwell Ome-Egeonu KGS, described himself as the captain of a football team that never scored any goal in a match, but believes in collective responsibilities, adding that they will continue to play and will continue to win.
He recalled his promise in 2010 to ensure the completion of the Multi-Purpose Hall, which according to him has come to reality. Eze Ome-Egeonu vowed not to bow to sub-standards and corruption, as such would ridicule his integrity in his community as a trained functionalism and sociologist.
Responding to the issue of aggrieved persons in his community, Ome-Egeonu disclosed that some persons decided not to work with him, describing him as a small boy that cannot lead them, forgetting that power and administrative qualities are biological, that cannot be measured by age, since he came from a Royal Family. He promised to build a Craft Center in the community where the youths will be properly engaged to learn skills and be empowered, advising them not to venture into politics without making impact to better there lots, as the use and dump by politicians across the country has not done any good to them.
The Senior Lecturer at the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, used the occasion to commend the administrative strides of Governor Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi in Rivers State, particularly on the positive impact he has made in the health sector, urging him to query contractors that have refused to complete some of the projects awarded to them, to record more progresses.
Eze Ome-Egeonu also expressed gratitude to Hon. Timothy Nsirim JP, for his developmental efforts and the enabling environment for peace and stability that he has provided in all the communities of Obio/Akpor LGA.
In the same vein, Lady Juliet Ome-Egeonu, the amiable wife of the Paramount Ruler of Rumuchiworlu Iboloji Community, expressed her appreciation to the guests and commended the chairman of the community, Mr Iyke Chukwu, for his commitment and acceptance to work in harmony with her husband to achieve the dream of an age long project which started before she was married to the community. Lady Juliet enjoined her fellow community women to use their positions as home builders to advise their husbands to always do or support those things that will collectively move the community to where it was supposed to be.##
