Borokiri DPO Commended For Job Well Done

Though regular criticisms have often trailed members of the Nigeria Police Force in cause of discharging their constitutional functions to members of the society, there seems to be an exception as Mr Akin Fakorede, a Superintendent of Police (SP) and the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Borokiri, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has been commended by some community elites.
Speaking with newsmen last weekend but pleading anonymity, they said SP Akin Fakorede is a proud son to the Nigerian police force for making the division a welcome place for peace makers and giving the lawbreakers unrest.
They further stated that the Division, barely two years ago and the early part of year 2012, was perceived as business centre enemies used to achieve their aims and offenders of the law go scot-free without fair investigation.
The elites thanked the new DPO for bringing back the lost glory of the station known for foling compromise.
In the same development, some members of the Police Public Relation Committee (PPRC), also commended the good job done by SP Fakorede in changing the face of Borokiri police station.
“We are happy to see the new face of the station including improved services. As a matter of fact, we never believed that there are still disciplined police officers of high integrity and morality,” they stated, adding, “In fact when some of us who knew the station heard the new development in the station, we were moved to see things for ourselves and confirmed it. The station is now like a police headquarters and cases reported treated according to their merit, irrespective of religious status, socio-political, economic background, and now we have confidence in Borokiri police station. We have also observed that detention order is no more a business of the station but a business of the law.
The statement gave thanks to the state command, most especially the Police Public Relations Officer of Rivers State, Mr. Ben Ugwuegbunam for identifying a police officer like Akin Fakorede who has the zeal and patriotism to serve.####
