A 22-year-old Nigerian has emerged the best graduating student of John Hopkins University in the United States.
He obtained a grade point average of 3.98 out of 4.0 to earn a degree in Neuroscience.
The Abia state-born Emmanuel Ohabunwa from Arochukwu extraction has made history and done the nation proud by becoming the first black man to make a degree in neuroscience with honours.
For his efforts, he has won a scholarship to pursue a degree in medicine. By virtue of this he has received various awards and scholarship from the Houston University.
When asked what he considered to be the missing links in the education sector of Nigeria when compared to that of United States, he said unpredictable academic calendar, corruption, examination malpractice and inadequate funding are some of the problems confronting his home country’s education sector. This, he said, is absent in the U S.
