Customs Agents Commission Project In Rivers State

The Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) and Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), had on the 28th of June, 2012, commissioned an office complex in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The event was an official opening of Godify Towers, built by Chief Isikaku lfeanyi, the MD/CEO of Godify Towers Nig. Ltd, and the General Secretary of ANLCA. The two storey building, with a Ware-House complex is situated at Eleme Road, in Akpajo, Rivers State.
Presenting his address, Chief lfeanyi described their humble beginning as a great commission that was entrusted in their hands by God in the last 8 years, with its take-off point, at 3 Azikiwe Road, Port Harcourt.
He hinged excellence as paramount important in their service delivery to their numerous and growing clientele. Stressing that finding new ways to respond to the needs in the industry, engaging upward mobile professionals, adapting international best practices, training and retraining of staff and skills as their new generation approach in doing business; affirming God’s faithfulness in the project, as their own contribution to nation building and economic development, striving to get to the tower as their name implies.
However, Mr. Ugonabo F. Chizoba, Deputy Comptroller of Customs, who represented Dr. Agbaje O.O., Assistant Comptroller General/Zonal Coordinator, Nigerian Customs Service, Zone C Port Harcourt, spoke on their readiness to synergize with ANLCA, ensuring that their relationship with other agencies were enhanced across the boarders of Nigeria, to sanitize the importation of sub-standard goods in the country. Compt. Ugonabo commended lfeanyi, for his bold steps to get to where he is now, saluting his courage and humility and urged other youths to follow suit.
In the same vein, Prince Olaiwola Shitu, the National President, Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents {ANLCA),opined that the significance of the event was that the industry has come of age, which he expressed to be proud of. He recalled that the jinx of Industry Road, Port Harcourt, that used to be the rallying point of every Clearing Agent then, with the same office address, had been broken by Chief lfeanyi-”Onwa”, who has elevated himself from tenancy to a complex owner. Adding that he was happy to be the President of ANLCA at a time like this and wished coming to the zone, to open more and more offices built by members, describing their relationship with Nigerian Customs as cordial.
Other dignitaries and personalities that attended the event include; Compt. Elesuaka, who represented the Customs Area Comptroller (CAC) of Onne, Area 1 Comptroller represented by Mr. Eyo, Henry Njoku, BOT Chairman, ANLCA and Mr. Nwokoji, National Vice President ANLCA. Others are; Ossy Prestige Ossy, ANLCA Area 3 Chairman, Chief Kingsley Offor, Area 1 Chairman, Oil and Gas chapter Chairman, Joshua Iheoma, Eze Mentus Mbonu and Mr. Pius A. Okoh, Sir Louis Onwumere a.k.a Tycoon amongst others.
