AN EAGLE NOT A PARROT

Speechless, soars mountains
Nonstop the wings to fly
Man who imitate an eagle
Does most of the flying
Not parroting like a parrot

Sharp the eyes
Aiming aright
Pouncing on preys
The schemes the eagle’s
A parrot weak and pale
Miming the dull

A parrot adopted
Calm in a cage
In a home not his home
An eagle careful
Lest be captured
Her wings clipped

Golden is eagle
Good to behold
Strong is its will
Like Bonaparte’s
But a parrot
Not willed, obsequious type

An eagle in strength
A lesson to learn
The parrot the gossip
Nothing to achieve
Better an old eagle
Than a young parrot!
