Some of the objectives of Governor Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi’s lead administration was to ensure peace and stability, security of lives and property and to return the state to its status quo, the “Garden City” of the nation.
The visits of investors and non investors and those from the Christendom to the city of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, was an indication that the state is gradually returning back to what it was known for.
The choice of Port Harcourt, Rivers State Nigeria, for the conferment of the prestigious United Nations Ambassador for Peace Award on Zimbabwean- born outstanding Preacher and President of Spirit Embassy Ministries, His Grace, Prophet Uebert Angel, the co-hosting of Nigerian-UN Flags and the dedication of Global Liberation Prophetic Church Auditorium as an International Hall of Fame, Nigeria, by United Nations POLAC Peace Programme, at Global Auditorium, Iriebe, Port Harcourt, on the 10th of June, 2012, was evident that Port Harcourt is back.
Addressing the congregation, His Excellency, Bishop Prof. Chidi Ehiriodo JP, International Director of United Nations-POLAC Peace Programme, said; “from today onward, Rev. Promise Ekejiuba will be addressed as His Excellency before any other title”. He added that the investiture was a way of honouring men and women that have distinguished themselves in the service of God and humanity.
In his remarks, Pastor Brian Angel, who represented the awardee, Prophet Dr. Uebert Angel, commended Pastor Promise Ekejiuba for his gesture in the service of God and humanity, pointing that it takes a man with great heart to give back to society what God has given to him, and prayed God Almighty to continue to be with Pastor promise, to be recognized not just in Rivers State, but globally. After his dedication of the Global Auditorium as an International Hall of Fame, Nigeria, Brian witnessed the co-hoisting of Nigerian United Nations Flags at the Global Premises by Amb. Pastor Promise and his wife, to the admiration of guests and worshippers, and promised to take words back to his country Zimbabwe, that Port Harcourt, Rivers State was indeed a place of hospitality.
Expressing his feelings before guests and followers, the Founder and General Overseer of Global Liberation Prophetic Church and President, Chukwuoma Support Foundation (CSF), His Excellency, Amb. Pastor Promise C. Ekejiuba, thanked God for what he has been doing in his life and appreciated UN-POLAC Peace Programme for finding them worthy to be Ambassadors, nothing that to whom much was given, much would be expected.
Ekejiuba, who affirmed that the function of the title given to him was greater than the title itself, described the best way of life as that of humility, thanked Prophet Uerbert Angel for accepting to do the work of God and humanity through his acceptance of the UN-POLAC Award and prayed God to give Uerbert , the grace to work for him the more.
Amb. Ekejiuba was hopeful to invite Uebert in one of their church programs in Nigeria, adding that in unity they will stand to work together to the Glory of God, urging his followers to live for Christ and for Christ- alone.
He attributed his philanthropic works to an age long experience from the weaker wings of his mother, who was unable to carry him at the age of four when his father died, which exposed him to the difficulties of life and the need to reach out to others. ###
