Jamatu Ahlissunnah Lidda’wati Wal Jihad, popularly called Boko Haram has claimed responsibility for the Kaduna and Zaria church attacks where reports says about 40 people, mostly women and children lost their lives. The attacks led to reprisal killings by christian youths.
Abu Qaqa, the sect spokesman said the massacre of Christians is to avenge the killing of Muslims and destruction of their mosques at Yelwan Shendam, Tafawa Balewa and Zonkwa where the sect say mosques were turned to drinking joints, and Christians continue to carry on with impunity through government support.
Boko Haram issued the statement earlier today to some selected media houses through its spokesman, Abu Qaqa.
The statement also claims that Christians must all convert to Islam for peace to reign.
The sect says Allah has tasked Muslims in the Holy Qur’an in chapter 9 verse 29 to launch an attack against Christians and Jews who didn’t believe in Him and His messenger, Muhammad (pbuh).
The sect also said that attacks against Christian children and women will continue, since security personnel resort to attack their women and children.
In the statement the sect said that residents of Maiduguri in Borno State are suffering because they did not support the sect when security forces waged war against them in 2009, and warned Kano residents to change their ways towards the sect.
