Comr. Alapiki Obed Fulfills Marriage Vow

An illustrious son of Tombia community, Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State, an Advocate of peace in the Niger Delta, Comr. Alapiki Obed, has fulfilled his marriage vow as he declared “I do, I do” to his angel, Ibinye ThankGod Chapp-Jumbo born to the family of Chapp-Jumbo, in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State, in Assemblies of God Church, UPE, Sandfield, Borokiri, Port Harcourt, last weekend.
During the church service, the officiating minister, Rev. Gilbert Awajimijan who delivered the sermon, defined marriage as two stupid people agreeing to marry themselves. He urged the couple to accept themselves as 1+1=1 and not report themselves to family members and friends, adding that love, humility, trust, endurance and tolerance are the lubricants of a successful marriage and urged the couple to use the word of God as guide for better ending.
Rev. Gilbert illustrated marriage as River Niger and River Benue that joined together, flowing into the Niger Delta without reporting themselves to communities.
The couple were joined together by Rev. S. T. Omuku, while Rev. Luke Nwosu performed the insertion of the Rings, after taking the oath of marriage at alter. Rev. Willington declared the alter blessing to the couple and bibles were also presented to the couple by Rev. Iwunze who defined the vow as a fulfillment of the word of God.
At the grand reception which took place at the VIP Hall, Civic Center, Moscow Road, PortHarcourt, the chairman of the occasion, Hon. Ene Dateme, in his opening speech, said marriage is holy forever and no man should put asunder. The chairman further maintained that he was delighted to be part of the landmark celebration and described the day as a vision come true, applauding the groom and the bright as a perfect pair.
He further stressed that the moral virtues of Comr. Alapiki Obed is a challenging profile for all sons and daughters of Tombia and thanked the couple for job well done
The toasting was formally conducted by Mr. Sime Agboribere who gloriously toasted for divine grace and upliftment, prosperity and fruitful marriage upon the couple and their children. Thereafter, the members of the table and the congregation toasted randomly with songs of solo
The cutting of the cake was done by the couple after a descriptive explanation by the cake designer and the floor opened for all.
Gifts were presented to the couple by several people from within and outside the state, including Deacons, Assemblies of God, UPE, Sandfield, chief Ofo Magnus, staff of GTC Tombia, the bride and groom families and ibimina polo community represented by Gospel Nyengibi.
Mr. Vincent Simepiri and Lilian Iwo, friends of the bride and groom who spoke to newsmen, said the day was their happiest day to see their friends coming together to form a family in the site of God. They wished them happy marriage in all the days of their lives
Giving the vote of thanks, the groom thanked all and stated that the day will forever be indelible in their hearts.
