Walga Children’s Parliament Bans Hawking During School Hours

The Okrika Local Government Council Children’s Parliament, which was inaugurated by the Executive Chairman of Council, Barr. Tamuno Williams has pledged its commitment to ensure that the rights of children in the area are protected to the fullest.
The speaker of the Children’s Parliament of the Local Government Area, Hon. Deinma Ogan stated that, as Parliamentarians, representing the interest of children in the area, they will take full responsibilities to ensure that the objective of the parliament is achieved.
Moving a motion by the Deputy Chief Whip, Hon. Gladys Semipiriye, representing ward 7, on the report of children loitering during school hours which was seconded by Hon. Grace John, representing ward 2, the parliamentarians frowned at the ugly situation and warned that henceforth, children found loitering shall be arrested and their parents prosecuted.
The Chief Whip, Hon. Ibiene John moved for an adjournment to Tuesday, June 5, 2012 as the Speaker Hon. Deinma Ogan adjourned the Parliament to another Legislative day.###
