Rivers Chief Judge Honours Barr. Agbaraosimi

The Chief Judge of Rivers State, Hon. Justice Iche Ndu, has recognized outstanding achievements of a legal luminary in the state, Chief Barr. Godwin Ovunda Agbaraosimini, at a swearing in ceremony held recently in his chambers in the Port Harcourt Judiciary complex.
Inducting Barr. Agabraosimini as a “Notary Public”, the CJ said the honour was given him in recognition of his leadership and commitment in the legal profession.
Hon. Justice Ndu said, “I don’t think I can adequately describe the enormous amount of work Barr. Agabaraosimini has done in his efforts to raise the level of the legal profession. He demands professionalism, honesty, integrity and discipline in the practice of legal activities in the country.”
Chatting with journalists immediately after signing the oath of honour, Barr. Agabaraosimini said, “Lawyers of past ten years at the bar are eligible to apply for Notary Public if he or she meets the requirements.
“What you need to do is apply to the chief Justice of the Federation and present current receipt of the practicing fee and Bar dues, accompanied with confidential report when the applicant is in practice. The chief judge of the state will also send a confidential report of the person to the CJ of the federation. Thereby a secret check out of the person will be done without his consent as it touches his personal integrity for honour and function as special lawyer” he stated.
Barr. Agabraosimini also said that franking of documents between nations was necessary as such documents become internationally recognized between corporate organizations and partnership with expatriate quarters.
The induction ceremony was witnessed by Mrs. Helen Agbaraosimini, his wife and some lawyer friends. ###
