PH Bike Festival: Inyang, Osa, Rowland, Others, Speak On Safety

The Port Harcourt Hard Riderz Motorbike club had on Saturday, 19th of May 2012, held its Bike festival, at the Events Garden and Part of Abacha Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
In his opening remarks, the chairman of the club, King Osa-Cookey stated that the event was an opportunity for the guests to know what the bike festival is all about and know how they do what they know how to do best.
He urged bikers on the issue of safety, to always carry out checks on their bikes before getting to the road, not to push themselves above their limits by taking alcoholic or hard drugs before embarking on any journey and the need to be properly kitted.
However, Mr. Inyang Effiong, the president of the HardRidaz MC, described the festival as an opportunity for bike owners and non-bike owners to get together add ask questions that bother on biking, which he said was open for bikers and non-bikers at the event.
Inyang, who towed the line of King Osa as regards safety, further educated the bikers on some of the precautions to be taken before and while on long journeys.
In the same vein, Hon. Napoleon D. Hezekiah, a representative of the Nigerian Red Cross Society at the event, threw more light on the issue of safety while his counterpart from the Rotary Club International, GRA Chapter, Rotarian Ozor, emphasized that they were at the event because of the unique talents of HardRidaz MC, to see how they can partner with them, to affect lives and eradicate polio in Nigeria.
Other members of the club who spoke with our correspondent at the event include, Mr. Rowland Nwuchi, Okao Odu, President of Motorcross Nija and Mr. Soya, whose motor bike was highly applauded for neatness and unique in model.
They all thanked God for the safety of their lives over the years they have been biking and attributed it to the need for caution while carrying out their biking activities. They urged interested bikers and non bikers to come and join them and to understand that motor bike is just like any other automobile with engine that moves faster or slower, depending on how or whichever way that one may want it to go.
The HardRidaz MC believed that the partnership with Rotary club international, when concluded will add value to the lives of the needy in the society, particularly to those in Rivers State. ###
