In Nigeria today, the life history or success story of every successful and unsuccessful man or woman is quickly traced to his or her ability or inability to impact positively or negatively on the lives of those around them.
Many Nigerians would quickly justify any one whose beginning was characterized with hatred, abandonment, neglect, among others, to be doing the right thing, when he or she has made it in life and refused to assist those around them, while some will praise or question that man or woman whose beginning was buttered with bread, for what good they have done or refused to do in the lives of their people, community or state in general.
Above all, we still have people in Nigeria today who suffered more humiliation and hatred at the beginning, yet decided to follow the path of God, though they might not be Christians or rich all through. They carry along all those that needed to be carried along.
Wike’s family in Rumueme, Obio/Akpor L.G.A of Rivers State, happened to be in the category of the later, having distinguished themselves politically and otherwise in the development of Obio/Akpor and Rumueme Community in general.
Little wonder the word in the book of Ecclesiastics was made manifest in the family of Mr. and Mrs. Collins Wike, as their good works and the entire Wike’s family provoked God to remember and rewarded them with the gift of a baby girl called Favour Eberechi Collins after 15 years of their marriage.
This awesome favour came to be just last year 2011, and Baby Favour Eberechi Collins then was dedicated to God, as family, friends and well wishers were highly entertained at the dedication reception.
May 19, 2012 has added one year in the life and remembrance of Baby Favour Collins. As usual, parents who came with their wards and those children that came on their own, would attest to the fact that they were highly thrilled, entertained and lots of gift packages given to them.
The arrival of Baby Favour in the family of Mr. Collins Wike, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Treasurer in Obio/Akpor L.G.A and the immediate senior brother to Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike, former Chief of Staff, Rivers State and now, the Hon. Minister of Education for State, is an indication and fulfillment of God’s word that those who put their trust in Him, are like Mount Zion that cannot be moved from their positions.
It is believed therefore, that God almighty that sees in secret, who has rewarded Mr. Collins openly, will use the occasion of his daughter’s one year birthday ceremony as a point of contact to reach out to those families, men and women out there that are looking up to a day of celebration just like the Wikes, to believe that their desires will definitely come true, as stated in the book of Mathew 7:7.
As God has done it for Mr. and Mrs. Collins Wike, people of few words but full of compassions, after 15 years of their marriage, he will do it for you and he will do it for every one that desires it.
