Rivers State Agency for the Control of Aids (RIVSACA) has inaugurated several Technical Working Groups (TWG) within two days.
The groups were inaugurated on Tuesday for treatment and another three followed on Wednesday on preventions.
The inaugurations were done by the Executive Director of RIVSACA, Dr. Chimenem Okeh with charges to work for mankind.
Speaking to this weekly after the ceremony, Fr. Okeh said the groups were inaugurated to strengthen the treatment programme, for the people living with the virus, so that there would be improvement in quality, effectiveness and efficiency, and treatment in such a way that all people needed woul get it from time to time.
He explained how RIVSACA is moving the treatment train to a decentralization platform whereby treatment load will not remain in one particular centre, instead it will spread to other hospitals and Primary Health Care Centres.
He has it that to effect this, Doctors and people already working in health care delivery would be trained to handle HIV/AIDS cases properly.
Dr. Okeh further said that what has been said would be fully implemented and detailed them to effect their plans and bring them for integration.
He advised that as the workers shall do more of counseling, people should obey them and do what are recommended for them. ###
