Encourage Youths To Form Co-Operative Societies – Chinye

Rivers State Co-operative Financing Agency (RICFA) has been charged to encourage youths form co-operative societies in order to create wealth and ensure sustainable development.
The Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Mr. Chuma Chinye gave the charge when the board members of RIFCA paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
Mr. Chinye stressed the importance of youths’ to participate in the co-operative movement, and emphasised the need for them to carry out public enlightenment programmes to educate the public on the benefits of forming co-operative societies.
He urged RICFA to be proactive in their approach and actions in areas of wealth creation and empowerment of members, advising them to explore ways of reaching out to potential members through opening interactive internet website.
Earlier, the President of the Rivers State Co-operative Finance Agency, Apostle Sunday Jackson pledged RICFA’s readiness to partner with the State Government in the registration of cooperative societies and accessing loans from the State Micro Finance Agency (RIMA) and contribute to the growth and development of co-operative organizations in the State. ###
