Chapter Four
You are also getting ready to earn your own living when you leave school. What do you enjoy doing most? Find out whether there is a field of work in which you can use your talents, and find out what subjects you need to take at school to prepare you for the work you would like to do.
SORTING OUT IDEAS: As you have probably already seen for yourself, there are many people who have different ideas and beliefs. You have to learn to sort out for yourself; and to choose for yourself; a set of ideas and beliefs, which make sense and are acceptable to you.
People who know what they want in life, also know where they are going. They can make their own choice, which means that they are people who can make up their own minds. Making the right choice may mean losing some “friends” it means that you won’t always popular. But “friends” who won’t let you say, “No, thank you, I don’t want to” aren’t worth having as friends anyway. Often these people, although they won’t say so, are quite impressed to see someone who makes up his mind and doesn’t just go with the gangs.
Chapter Five
Say No To Child Abuse
Children, the world over, suffer from abuse in diverse ways. Some suffer abandonment, rejection, improper care and do not have access to good food, clothes, school au health care. Some young girls and boys listen to their peers and friends and commit abortion. Some of the girls die in the process. That’s child abuse!
As a total woman, I have learnt a lot from my parents, guardians, teachers and individuals I come across every day. My responsibilities I are geared towards my siblings as well as other young people. This attitude of being responsible has helped me a lot in influencing lives: kids, children, teenagers, youths and young parents. With the great passion and love I have for people, I make use of every opportunity by lending a hand on the street, neighbourhoods, homes, schools, churches, on the airwaves (radio programme participation).
As a total girl, you need to be diligent, homely responsible. When you have the proper home training you will be able to bring up your children in a good way when you eventually become a mother. You won’t think of abusing your children as well as other people’s children. You can also join in the fight against child abuse because; you have the right to do so. ###
