The Stephen Keshi selected home based Eagles has given hope to the Nigerian football followers as they proved their worth against the four times champion of African football, the Pharaohs of Egypt, playing 2-3 in favour of the pharaohs.
Though the Eagles lost to the Pharoahs with a goal margin, the gallant home based Eagles were commended for their efforts. Considering the opponent the Nigerian home based Eagles played, there is hope for Nigerian football, if only Keshi could maintain these set of players like Westerhof of 1994 squad.
Coach Keshi too was highly happy and vowed to concern himself to the home based eagles in his selection of players for the national team.
The seeming hope built by the home based Eagles is something that should be encouraged by all Nigerians in all ramifications, as the foreign based Eagles sometimes tend to hold the nation at ransom when it mattered most.
It is just a matter of time and dedication on the part of the home based Eagles and Nigerians will have a gallant, formidable Eagles solid enough to confront any emerging soccer power in the globe.
Keshi may be on his path to make history as for the first time a Nigeria national team is losing to a side but instead of Nigerians frowning, it is really amazing as all and sundry who are in the football business are commending the Nigerian lads as well as Keshi for assembling the gallant crop of players. ##
