Hon. Chinda Issues Bursary Award To Indigent Students

The lawmaker representing Obi/Akpor constituency 2 in the Rivers State House of Assembly recently issued bursary award to indigent students in his constituency.
Hon. Chinda observed that he was motivated to award the bursary to help those whose parents cannot afford to pay their school fees in order to continue with their education, thus reciprocating the trust his people have for him by electing him to represent them amidst thousands.
He further noted that the bursary scheme runs every year till the beneficiaries graduate from the University.
“However, the beneficiaries were not chosen based on academic performance but purely based on those who are really in need and cannot afford to go to school due to finance.
“Apart from this bursary award, another phase of human capacity development I intend to embark on before the end of the year is the skills acquisition culminating into mastering a particular trade in life,” he said.
The lawmaker also observed that the issue of empowerment and human capacity development in Obio/Akpor LGA has been a legendary act passed on from their predecessors like chief Wike and others.
Therefore with that as a benchmark, he noted that other politicians within his LGA like Hon. Oke Chinda, House of Representative, Hon. Timothy Nisirim, council chairman, Hon. Martins Amawhule, Obio/Akpor (RSHA) had all embarked on lofty projects to uplift the lives of Obio/Akpor people.
To this end, Hon. Chinda also used the opportunity to commend colleagues in the Rivers State House of Assembly, noting that most of them are assiduously carrying out constituency projects to improve their communities and the lives of the people they represent.
