Delga Provides Boat to Bille Community

The Degema Local Government Council has provided an engine boat to the Bille Community to ease public transportation.
Delivering the boat to an eight-man delegation, the Chairman of Degema local Government Council, Mr. Daddy Pokima said the gesture was to serve as relief to the people from the effects of the removal of fuel subsidy.
He said a co-ordinator be appointed to oversee the affairs of the transport fare which should be paid into the council’s coffers, adding that the driver of the boat should be a native of Bile, while assuring them whatever is meant for Bille will be given to the community.
Mr. Pokima said there is security challenge within the Bille waterways and advised them to see the boats as their personal property and not that of government in order to protect the facility.
Responding on behalf of the delegation, the Secretary to the Bille Council of Chiefs, Chief Ibitamuno Minapakama, commended the Chairman for delivering the boat to the community and pledged their loyalty to his administration. ###
