DELGA: Chairman Inaugurates Personnel Audit Committee

To Further strengthen accountability and moral probity in its accounting system, the Executive Chairman of Degema local government area, Hon. Ibigoni Daddy Pokima, has inaugurated the Degema local government area Personnel Audit Committee with a charge to evaluate the staff strength, audit the total work force, compile and prepare a new nominal roll. Reposition the staff strength, identify temporary staff, and ghost-workers (if any) etc and make relevant recommendations to Council for implementation.
According to him, the need for a Personnel Audit has become imperative and was in line with his administration’s policy thrust for enhanced financial discipline since as he put it “Government cannot succeed without due process, morality and integrity.
“To have a credible reputation, while using the people’s money judiciously, we need to stay within audit and compliance boundaries.” He stated.
Mr. Fa-aye Franklin and Alhaji Owanate Sanipe, are to serve as chairman and secretary respectively. Other members of the committee includes: Hon. Osaki Asobari, Mr. Duabo Dick, Mrs. Chioma Nwamkwo, Dr. Akanibo K. Dawariboko, Comm. J. Bell-Fiddo, Krakraye H. Harry and Harji Mac-Braide.
Co-opted members include: One representative each from the supervising Commission and United Bank for Africa PLC.
Responding, The chairman of the committee, Mr. Fa-aye Franklin, thanked the chairman for the opportunity given them to serve, while promising to discharge their work with due diligence.###
