Persevere In Thanking God For His Mercies…Celebrates 10 Years Anniversary

A clergy man in Rivers State, Venerable Richard Opara JP, Rector, St. Peters Anglican Church, Rumuepiricom Deanery, has urged Nigerians to persevere in thanking God for His wonderful mercies.
Ven. Okpara gave the charge while in a chat with journalists during his 10th Archdeaconal thanksgiving ceremony at the St. Peters Anglican Church Rumueperikon Deanery Obio/Akpor local government area of Rivers State.
The clergy argued that it is important to thank God for all He has been doing for us to receive more. The venerable who recalled that there were challenges of discouragement and joy during his ten years archdeaconship, said the ceremony was to thank God for all he has done for him and his family despite the challenges and commended members of the St. Peters Anglican Deanery for their cooperation which had helped him to succeed for the past ten years.
The clergy man frowned at the security challenges in the states and nation masterminded by Boko Haram sect, kidnappers and other agents. He urged Nigerians to be prayerful and have trust on God to transform their fortunes, adding that prayer and faith are the only way out of Nigeria’s insecurity predicament.
In his speech, the chairman of the thanksgiving committee, Chief Barr. Onuegbum Onuoha, who expressed his profound gratitude to God for the successful thanksgiving and the clement weather, described Ven. Richard Okpara as a humble and simple man who has his members problems at heart as well as a man who reaches out to his members, stressing that he has performed creditably, in piloting the affairs of the deanery for the past ten years.
Similarly the public relations officer of the thanksgiving committee Chief Chijioke Nyeche described Ven. Richard Okpara as humble and prayerful, and gives counsel to his members to enable them be healthy and worship God effectively. ###
