The chairman of Okrika local government area has stated authoritatively that peace has returned to Okrika local government area.
The Okrika boss made this revelation while answering questions from journalists at Abam Ama during the St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Abam Ama dedication where four of the community illustrious sons and daughters were also honoured.
Barr. Tamuno Williams stressed that when he came into power the governor of the state gave him a marching order of curtaining the criminal activities in the area. With this, he said, he put his feet on ground with the help of the Christian community who prayed and fasted day and night to see that the supremacy of God takes over the criminal activities going on in the area, stating that God alone could give peace.
He also stated that peace was restored using the security agents in conjunction with the enabling good solidarity support from Governor Amaechi, pointing out that Okrika is now a peace heaven, “thanks to the governor of Rivers State, who really supported my administration to a large extent.”
In a similar development he revealed that the high court in Okrika is now in a good position to handle any criminal cases in the area. He warned those who perpetrate criminal activities to desist from the act as his administration will not condone it. ###
