The ancient town of Okor Ahia Ukwa West local government area of Abia state on Saturday, March 31, 2012, stood still, as Chief Mrs. Nice Tobolayefa Aleruchi Alamieseigha was conferred with Chieftaincy title of Ugo Nwanyi 1 (Eagle woman) of Ipu South ancient Kingdom, alongside seven other Nigerians.
Chief Mrs. Alamieyeseigha, Nee Amadi Wochi, hails from the family of Chief Sr. Alex Chizindu and Lady confidence N. Amadiwohi of Alimini Isiokpo ancient kingdom in Ikwerre local government area of Rivers State.
She enrolled for a pre-university programme in 2000 with the Rivers State College of Arts and Science in Port Harcourt, there after got admission to study computer science in 2008, and got married to Engineer Godknows Salo Alamieyeseigha of Bayelsa state, blessed with four children.
She was the beauty queen of the Rivers State College of Arts and Science Rivcas in 2000.
Performing his traditional duty on Mrs. Alamiesiegha, HRH. Dr. Godwin C. Ukanna (APJ) the Chinyere Ugo II of Ipu South Autonomous community gave God the glory for his mercy for making it possible to be on the throne for the past two years.
The Royal father described her as a philanthropist worthy to be given the title due to her benevolence, love for the widows and less privileged, stressing that the title would encourage her to do more.
The royal father however advised her and others who were given titles not to relent in their kind attitudes in assisting the needy as God would reward them.
In his address at the ceremony, the royal father who thanked the executive governor of Abia state, Chief T. A. Orji the (Ochendu) for his timely intervention in the security problems in Ukwa West, also commended him for his love and benevolence for the people of Ipu South ancient Kingdom by choosing him to be the traditional ruler of the area on May 26, 2010.
He appealed to him to construct the abandoned project in the area as well as remember the sons and daughters of the LGA for political appointments.
In her response, Mrs. Alamiesiegha while commending HRH. Ukanna for the honour done her, noted that the honour was due to philanthropism to the less privileged and widows and that the titled would spur her to do more.
Mrs. Alamiesiegha who is also the MD Karizma’s Home, a devoted Christian and a mother, said her work would not deprive her of helping the needy.
Similarly Engineer Godknows Salo Alamiesiegha, her husband, expressed profound gratitude to God for the recognition given to his wife, for her kind attitude toward the less privileged. He described his wife as a visionary lady and one who is full of vigour to do good deeds with strong passion.
Engr. Alamieyesiegha, a staff of NDDC, noted that the priority of NDDC was to develop the Niger Delta area, stressing that south Ukwa West in Abia State which is part of the Niger Delta will be beneficiary of NDDC projects.
In their separate speeches, other awardees such as Chief Kelechi Anyanwu, the Akwudoroeze I of Ipu south community Ukwa West, Chief N. C. Ihagbaram one of Ipu south Ikwa West, Chief Ibekwe, Onwa Netiri Oha I of Ipu South Akwa, among others, thanked HRH Godwin C. Ukanna and the entire people of Ipu South Ukwa community for honouring them and promised not to let them down.
Those who graced the occasion include Eze Blessing Wago. the Nyewe Ali Isiokpo, Mrs. Giano Abdallah, the families and well-wishers of the awardees, among others. ###
