Nwanodi Attributes Igwuruta Tanker Fire Incident To Igwuruta Round About …Solicits Amaechi’s Assistance For Victims

There have been reactions across the state on the Igwuruta tanker fire disaster which claimed several lives including the lives of families of five as well as properties worth millions of naira destroyed, couple of days ago.
The latest was from a prominent Chief of Igwuruta, Chief Onyemuche Nwanodi, the Eze Igwuruta 1 of Igwuruta, aka The General.
In a chat with the Political Editor of The Newswriter newspaper at his Igwuruta resident in Ikwerre local government area of Rivers State, Chief Nwanodi expressed shock over the incident sympathized with the victims and their relatives.
Chief Nwanodi who is also the chairman, Community Development Committee (CDC) of Igwuruta town, attributed the incident to the Igwuruta round about, which according to him, was too narrow to have assess of vehicles in the area. He emphasized that there was need for the expansion of the round about to avoid re-occurrence and appealed to Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi the governor of Rivers State to, as a matter of urgency, expand the Igwuruta round about and assist the victims of the incident in whatever way he feels, to relieve them of their suffering and to enable them have a place to stay as the incident has rendered them homeless.
The Igwuruta born chief and business tycoon expressed worry that Igwuruta people have ceased to get their rights from the government after the demise of their paramount ruler, His Royal Highness, Eze Benson W. Olucha, the Nyewe Ali Igwuruta over 17 years agao.
Chief Nwanodi who noted that there is need to replace him, appealed to governor Amaechi as a matter of urgency to look into Igwuruta vacancy stools matter to enable them have their paramount ruler.
He enjoined Igwuruta people to liase with governor Amaechi to chose a reliable, respected, honest and a true son of Igwuruta who knows their culture to replace the late paramount ruler which would go a long way to ensure unity and peace in Igwuruta town. ####
