The Amanyanabo of Idama community in Akuku Toru local government area of Rivers State, His Royal Datme Okio II, has given a pat on the back of the management of a multinational firm, Chevron Nigeria, for carrying out its corporate social responsibilities in his domain.
The Amanyanabo made this known in an exclusive chat with the political editor of The Newswriter Newspaper at Buguma, headquarters of Asari-Toru local government area shortly after he was conferred with a royal award of excellence by the Amanyanabo of Kalabari, HM King Prof. TJT Princewill, Amachree XI, to mark his 10th year on the throne.
Okio II who rated the management of Chevron 80% in its efforts to ensure development in Idama community, commended the people especially the youths of the area for their peaceful disposition.
The paramount ruler however attributed the existence of the peaceful relationship between his community and chevron to justice, equity, fair play and respect for traditional authorities.
According to him, “Idama is the most peaceful community in Kalabari Kingdom”
He had earlier thanked the Kalabari monarch for the award saying, it will spur him to continually seek for the unity of Kalabari kingdom.
HRH Okio Dateme called on the Kalabaris to tread on the part of peace and dialogue so as to usher in the needed development into the kingdom. ###
