Couples have once again been urged to hold tenaciously to their marriage vows.
Rev. Sullivan Odike of the St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Rumuola Parish gave the advice over the weekend in Port Harcourt during the double celebration of blessing of the marriage and the dedication of its product, master Claver Chigozirim Ihunwo, of Mr. and Mrs. Victor N. Ihunwo of Rumuola Town in Obio/Akpor LGA of Rivers State.
The clergyman in his sermon made it known that love is the ingredient that makes good marriage, taking his text from Gen. 2:4. He said God deliberately gave Adam a helpmate to assist and not to challenge him, urging the men to always love and cherish their wives while the wives on the other hand must be submissive to their husbands in order for the union to be fulfilled according to the foundation laid by God.
The couple later held a reception for their friends and well wishers at their resident, No. 86 Rumuola Rd, Port Harcourt where guests were treated with sumptuous meals while a life-band and other cultural groups entertained.
In a press interview, the celebrant Mr. Ihunwo, a seaman said he has cause to glorify God for all His mercies and grace towards his family. The three years old marriage has earlier produced Miss Victory Ihunwo. He used the opportunity to thank his parents for their efforts in bringing them up in the fear of God, wishing them good health and long life.
The beautiful wife, Mrs. Caroline Ihunwo also used the opportunity to thank God and her husband for making the day a reality. She prayed God to protect and guide her husband for her while promising once more to be a good wife and mother to the family.
Mrs. Ihunwo promised also that her presence in the family will usher in more favour from God, and appreciated everybody who found time to honour their invitation. ###
