The governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi expressed gratitude for the executives of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, led by Chief Godwin U. Ake.
The governor who spoke through his Deputy, Engr. Tele Ikuru at Civic Centre, Port Harcourt during the PDP state delegates conference on Saturday March 17, 2012, attributed all the victory of the party in elections in the state to the good leadership of the executives, G. U Ake especially.
He said that the best way to thank a person who has done well is to tell him to do it again and this is what the party has expressed through balloting, adding that those voted out of office in the election should not loose hope as the party will not forget them in its dealings.
Speaking to this weekly, the senator representing Rivers South East, Senator Magnus Abe, described the election as fantastic, a common understanding among the party faithfuls.
Abe went on to say that for the party to build up strategy for advancement, such an understanding must be in place as a means to prevent division in the house, explaining that PDP has become a family.
In his acceptance speech, Chief G. U. Ake thanked the party members for returning him and the executives, adding that they will not betray the confidence the party has bestowed on them and that the executive is going to work hard. ####
