Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi has formally endorsed the Miss Rivers State Beauty Pageant.
The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Nnabuife lmegwu disclosed this when the Executive of Miss Rivers State Entertainment Ventures paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Port Harcourt.
Dr. lmegwu said, the Venture was endorsed after due process, adding that Miss Rivers State Entertainment Beauty Pageant has a tourism content.
He noted that pageantry is not all about looks, but a means of impacting positive values on youths, especially among the women folks and enjoined Miss Rivers State Entertainment Venture to give premium to excellence in the selection of pageants.
Responding, the Executive Director, Miss Rivers State Entertainment Ventures, Mr. Raphael Koko thanked the State Government for the endorsement, adding that it would project the rich cultural heritage and beauties of Rivers State to the world.
The pageant has contestants representing the 23 Local Government Areas of the State. ###
