Today we grief, mourn and celebrate the joining of the Saints Triumphant of Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, the Eze Igbo Gburugburu and the Peoples General.
Ikemba Nnewi was a phenomenal Nigerian who sacrificed all he had in the courageous and exceedingly patriotic pursuit of the making of a modern Nigeria where justice, equity, good conscience, fair play, distributive democracy and citizenship are promoted and indigenship de-emphasized.
An intellectual Iroko with persuasive oratorial skill of the likes of the Latin Licero, a forthright and compassionate leader, a legendary politician of character and sound pedigree and most outstandingly a soldier of repute.
We mourn your departure but are consoled by your enduring positive legacies.
On behalf of my family, my town, Uturu and the entire members of Uturu Development Association, Nigeria, I say “Rexquicet in Pace”.
