The senator representing Rivers South East senatorial zone, senator Magnus Abe has welcomed Legborsi Nwidadah, Rivers State House of Assembly member representing constituency 1, Khana, into politics and advised him to understand the current politics of keeping political friends as well as keeping close with the people who vote him to power, wishing him bright political future.
The senator gave this instruction on Sunday, February 19, 2012, at Methodist Church, Bori, when the body of Christ gave a reception in honour of Legborsi, adding that one cannot grow in politics leaving his makers behind.
Magnus Abe who described the event as joyous, thanked the church for making an eventful day in the live of Legborsi and creating a standard for humility which a believer should learn to emulate in the younger generation.
The senator lauded the good venture of the Methodist church on the soil of Ogoni, putting it that they were the earliest church to arrive in Ogoni and has produced greater percentage of educationists in the land.
The Khana local government council chairman, Hon. Gregory Nwiedam, speaking to the press, pointed out that Khana politics now has changed from what it used to be, to a team work which intending politicians should watch well as it requires one to be of good character.
According to the council boss, only good persons will find way into politics in Khana now, explaining that the rate at which people attended Legborsi’s reception is a clear indication that good conduct is the order of the day, as attendants confessed that they are in the ceremony because of the good character of Legborsi.
In the same vein, Dr. J. Y. Nwidadah, elder brother of Legborsi, a retired medical practitioner of the Rivers State ministry of Health, who noted the effective representation of Legborsi, advised him to be focused, steadfast and honest in his political career.
He thanked God who has kept him alive to raise Legborsi, advising him to maintain good public relations with all in cause of his politics.
Speaking to this weekly, Legborsi Nwidadah described his position as a lawmaker as a special grace of God and thanked God for this elevation.
He lauded Senator Magnus Abe and Hon. Nwiedam for calling him out into politics and struggled for his success as a law maker. Likewise, he thanked the Methodist church for honouring him, asking them to keep supporting him so that he could give the constituency and the world beyond, the adequate representation needed.
He assured adequate representation to the people and asked God to be by his side.
He used the medium to advise the youths of Ogoni to be humble and serve God in all capacities in life and shun militancy, cultism and all other forms of social vices as they do not pay and encouraged them to make discipline and obedience their hallmark. ###
