JTF Commended On Operation Stop Illegal Bunkery – Kpo Fire

The Joint Military Task Force (JTF) in Rivers State under the new command has been commended by concerned citizens of Rivers State on their recent action to frustrate illegal bunkering activities at the Port Harcourt waterfronts.
Mr. Epeletima Rowland one of the concerned citizens gave the commendation in a chat with The Newswriter correspond last week, after the JTF destroyed several barrels of illegally refined kerosene locally known as kpo-fire
According him, the efforts of the JTF now known as Operation Restore Hope to waste the locally illegal refined petroleum product in drums is a welcome development to reduce the uncontrolled illegal bunkering activities in Rivers State.
He urged the military officers to leave up to expectation no matter their challenges and uphold the nation’s integrity and the sovereignty of the Nation.
He described the military as the action force of the nation that should always fight against illegal bunkering activities for the economic interest of the nation.
Mr. Rowland further maintained that a continued action of wasting illegal petroleum products will help fight against illegal bunkering and urged the military not to relent on the mission.
The activist also tasked the members of the Nigerian Police Force not to pamper illegal bunkerers and ensure the full rigour of the law on offenders, adding that bribery and corruption will jeopardize the nation in all ramifications and urged the members of the Nigeria Police Force to avoid such acts and arrest illegal bunkerers to serve as deterrent to others.
Hear him: “when people who are arrested for illegal bunkering activities regain their freedom within weeks and go back to the business, it encourages others to invest more in the illegal business because it has become a legalized business. That is what encourages illegal bunkering, mostly.
