The congratulatory messages that has been pouring in both in the electronics and print media since the appointment of Hon. Tony Okocha as the Chief of Staff, Government House, Port Harcourt by the State Chief Executives is now cutting across party lines as the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) in Rivers State has joined the brand wagon.
In a statement made available to the press, the Obio/Akpor chapter of the party congratulated the COS and thanked Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for what they described as a well-deserved appointment.
According to the ANPP youth leader in Obio/Akpor LG Council, Comrade Oru Nwobueze who signed the statement “the appointment is one in a million which is going to take care of the marginalized lot in the area and the state in general”.
Comrade Nwobueze alias “Italian boss” who is also the OBio/Akpor LG Chairman of the Ikwerre Youth Congress, IYC, used the opportunity to advise the Ikwerre politicians to close ranks, forgive each other and forge ahead in the interest of the ethnic group.
The youth leader promised to mobilize support across party line for the Chief of Staff whom he described as a grassroots politician to succeed in the onerous task ahead.
