PRINCE NSIRIM ADDRESSES HAUSA TRADERS

Hausa Traders Association (HTA) at Trans-Amadi abattoir in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State have been called upon to co-operate with the Council towards the nation’s bid to fight terrorism.
The Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Prince Timothy Nsirim made the call during a meeting he held with the traders at the Council headquarters, Rumuodomaya.
Prince Nsirim promised to transform the area for the overall interest of the people while in office and advised them to sink their differences by joining forces with him to maintain peace.
He urged them to fish out bad eggs among them and those who would want to tarnish the image of the Local Government Area.
In his response, the Care-taker Committee Chairman of the Association, Mr. Abraham Maisundu assured the council boss that members would identify with his developmental strides and remain peaceful. ###
PRESIDENTIAL NYSC AWARD WINNERS ARRIVE PH
Two Rivers State indigenes were among the 52 NYSC members that won President Goodluck Jonathan’s award for outstanding performance and contributions during their service year.
They are Miss Ihedike Christabel Ekeoma from Onelga and Mr. Uranta Kingsley Godwin from Opobo Nkoro Local Government Area.
Speaking shortly after presenting themselves to the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mrs. lbim Semenitari in Port Harcourt, they expressed appreciation to Government for all their support to students of Rivers State in tertiary institutions.
According to them, with the President’s award, the Federal Government has given them automatic employment/Schorlarship to study anywhere in the world up to Ph.D level.
To emerge as one of the overall best NYSC members in the country, Miss Ekeoma who read Medical Physiology in Uniport won other awards in Kwara State where she served including State award while Mr. Uranta who read Chemical Engineering and served in Anambra State also won several awards.
They advised all NYSC members to remain focused and articulate positive strategies aimed at contributing to better the lot of the people. ###
