Eleme L.G.A: Hon. Ngofa, Josiah Sets A New Dawn …As Comr. Ollor Chijor Takes Charge As Onne Youth President

Some of the factors that trail the political intrigue in the election of a Youth President in the land of Onne, has been tranquillized.
This followed a recent election that was held in Onne, Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Making his remarks at the inauguration of the Youth President at Onne Village Square, Mr. Ezekiel Obo, the Chairman of the Electoral Committee that conducted the election; described it as the most credible, free and transparent Youth election in the history of Onne, that was devoid of any external influence. Mr. Obo said he has set a record that history will not forget in Onne Land.
In the same vein, Comrade Ollor Chijor, the elected Youth President of Onne, had dedicated his victory to the youths of Onne, promising to incorporate all the youths in his administration.
Comrade Ollor, who used the occasion of his inauguration to dissolve the former existing youth bodies in Onne land, also promised to ensure that some youths of Onne will be gainfully engaged by the services of some of the companies operating in Onne before end of February, 2012. The elected Youth President also promised not to dabble into the issue of Chieftaincy, as it is a matter for their elders.
Hon. Josiah John Olu, a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly, representing Eleme constituency, affirmed his conviction that everything that was done at the village square is always known to be legitimate. Hon. Olu commended the LG boss, Hon. Oji Ngofa for providing an enabling environment upon which the election and inauguration took place.
He stressed further that if properly harnessed what is in Onne land is more than enough to take care of the people; that one of their election mandates were to ensure that an acceptable youth by all will be elected to take over the affairs and development of the people of Onne, which they have achieved through the collective efforts of all in Onne land.
Hon. Josiah further commended observers that took part in the youth election, particularly the National President of Rivers State Youth Federation. (RSYF), Comrade Adokiye Mujiton, who was also present at the inauguration of the Youth President, to lend credence to the credibility of the election.
The house member noted though that they cannot provide employment for all, but believing that with the Executive Chairman of Eleme L.G.A, Hon. Ngofa in the same platform with him, that the Youth President will have no reason not to deliver the dividends of good governance to the youths of Onne, in addition to the 192 Oil and Oil Services companies that are operating in the land. Hon. Josiah used the medium to advise all aggrieved person(s) to go to court, rather than resort to violence, which he said will not be for the best interest of the people.
Delivering his speech, Hon. Oji Ngofa, the Executive Chairman of Eleme L.G.A, thanked God for giving the people of Onne the enablement to utilize what he has given to them. Expressing gratitude that his resolve to ensure that the people of Onne elects a Youth President of their choice, has come to pass.
Hon. Ngofa affirmed that no body can derail a process of peace and vowed to stand by the Youth President to challenge whosoever that will challenge the President, provided the Youth President is doing the right thing. Hon. Ngofa charged Comrade Ollor Chijor, the Youth President to go to companies operating in Onne, to open up opportunities for the people and warned comrade Ollor, not to dabble into the issue of chieftaincy.
Others who spoke to journalists in line of carrying every body along by the Youth President were: HRH. Chief/Barr. G.O. Ollor, Onne-eh Onne vii, Paramount Ruler of Onne Land., Comrade N. Lawrence and Comrade Adokiye Mujiton, National President, Rivers State Youth Federation.
