AKULGA To Employ Legionnaires

Akuku-Toru Local Government area is to employ members of the Nigerian Legion in the area.
The Acting Chairman of the council, Mr. Stanley Benibo disclosed this at Abonnema, headquarters of the LGA during this year’s Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration.
Mr. Benibo said that an office space has already been provided for them, while soft loan scheme would be given to the widows to reduce their pains.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of Akuku- Toru chapter of the Nigerian Legion, Major Tubonimi Briggs (RTD), appealed to the Local
Government Council, to redeem the promises made to them last year by the immediate past administration.
He also called on all well meaning individuals and corporate organizations in the area to support the ex-service men and their dependants, in order to reduce their sufferings.
Highlight of the occasionwas the wreath laying ceremony by the acting chairman, assisted by the Deputy leader of the Akuku- Toru Legislative Assembly Mr. Igobo Albert, and heads of all security outfit present at the function. ####
