There is an indication that the youths of Gokana are laying ambush for droplets of the fuel subsidy removal if the president’s pronouncement will come to pass.
Mr Vobnu Rogers Le-erebari, Presiden,t Gokana Youth Movement for Economic Empowerment, confided in the press when newsmen visited him in his country home on Sunday, January 15, 2012.
He explained that Gokana youths have already made plans for the money so that it will not fall by the way side but will benefit them.
According to Le-erebari, education will take part of the money, while some parts will be used to empower those who are innovative for business, training and retraining of youths for skill acquisitions, as well as using it to put amenities in place for Gokana to turn to a haven for investors.
He has it that Gokana understood the purpose and the president’s intentions for the fuel subsidy removal, hence the youths of the area who are peace loving, refused to demonstrate in anyway throughout the nationwide strike.
Vobnu declared that they did not lose anything as a people in the strike except the impact suffered by the economics stand still in country.
He used the medium to thank the youths of Gokana for the peaceful dispensations displayed throughout the troubled times in the country, advising them to maintain this habit which they have showed.
He thanked the leaders, both traditional and political, who instructed in time to save them from crisis that might have occurred in course of the demonstrations, if not pre- advised.
He stressed that they should shun social vices and live in love with one another, be focused on things that are good, for such alone will bring development to the area. ###
