Church Declares 31 Days Fasting And Prayer For Nigeria

The Salvation Army Rivers/Bayelsa Division is under going a 31 days fasting and prayer for Nigeria, her leaders and the citizenry.
The fasting and prayer which began on January 1, 2012, will end on January 31, 2012, with a joint four days revival programme from 26th January to 29th January at the Divisional Head Quarters, #103 Aggrey Road, PH.
Speaking with The Newswriter, the clergy man of the Diobu Branch of the Salvation Army, Major Kennedy Inyang stated that Nigeria needs God’s intervention to move forward.
“Nigeria needs God’s intervention to move forward. Nigeria is blessed with a rich cultural heritage and bountiful resources. We need good leaders who have good and clear conscience, transparent attitude, God fearing, humble, servant leaders, obedient to God, no matter their religion, to move us into a new dawn, into the one entity called Nigeria,” Major Inyang stated.
He explained that it was as a result of corruption and greed that the economy of our nation had remained the way it is.
When asked if there is hope, he responded thus: “Yes, there is hope for our country. The present government under the leadership of president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GCFR) promises hope, succour, and light of the nation and its youths in particular. Also, we need to pray without ceasing.
“We all need to ask God to lead and direct us all so that we can play our part in rebuilding this nation. President Jonathan, his vice, Namadi Sambo need our support. Moreso, through our prayers, God will change the heart of those who do not seek the peace and unity of this country, or else bring them to book.”
The Diobu corps of the Salvation Army Rivers/Bayelsa Division is into the 17th day of the fasting and prayer on the following sub topics: prayers for male children, female children, all applicant, upliftment and promotion, life partners, martial homes, sickness, financial breakthrough, premature death, students, accident, family problems and success in all areas.
Major Kennedy Inyang enjoined all and sundry to support the president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan government and prayed God’s protection over citizens and foreigners.
He thanked Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi executive governor, Rivers State for declaring a fast for Rivers State and beyond on Friday 13th January, 2012, also reiterating the fact that providing palliative measures for Rivers State and all those resident in the state was a step in the right direction. ####
