Sports Journalist Becomes Nigeria Sports Minister

The trend of events has started changing in Nigeria under President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, as foremost sports journalist was appointed sports minister of Nigeria for the first time in the Nigerian’s history of appointing sports ministers.
Bolaji Abdullahi, became sports minister shortly after the former minister resigned his appointment. This is the first time a practicing sports journalist has been considered to mount the sports ministry in which they have been writing and shaping about with their mouth and pen.
As one who had been in the saddle for a long time, he will not be a stranger to shape and talk, now that he is the man in the saddle as the administrator. Being a critic through pen is different from administrating an office. What Bolaji has been saying in paper should now be reflected in action, now that he is the man who will take decision in the sports ministry.
Journalists too, are now in the high spirit to move the country’s sports ministry, as they would not want one of their own to fail in office.
The combination of ideas from journalists all over the nation will do a lot of good to Bolaji Abdullahi if he will listen to advice and accept advices from his colleagues.
The appointment of Bolaji is a step in the right direction, because sports journalists criticize a lot in paper as well. All those criticisms should now be put into practical action to move the country’s sports ministry, even as Nigeria needs a fast track development and management in sports. ###
