As predicated in the Bible every passing day come the fulfillment of the Scripture: “how they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lust”(Jude 18) Mockers, Scoffers, Jesters also known as Comedians. What do they do? “These are sports in your love feasts, while they feast with you without fear, serving only themselves. They are clouds without water, carried about by the winds; late autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the roots, raging waves of the sea, foaming up their own shame; wandering stars for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever” (Jude12-13).
Comedians are described as hypocritical, ungodly “mockers at feasts “ (Ps. 35:16). What do they do? “Likewise also these dreamers defile the flesh, reject authority, and speak evil of dignitaries…… But these speak evil of whatever they do not know; and whatever they know naturally, like brute beasts, in these things they corrupt themselves. Woe to them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, have run greedily in the error of Balaam for profit, and perished in the rebellion of Korah” (Jude 8, 10 – 11)
The comedy we have today has graduated to mockery in the name show biz. Some Pastors and Churches in bid to increase membership and to make money have bring these worldly comedians into the Church Assembly of Christians Believers to put up show of mocking the Church, Pastors and the Christian faith. Soon they will Christianize these comedians. Some Pastors are comfortable have these comedians on the altar to make jest, laugh and ridicule whatever goes on in the Church and yab Pastoral and Christian ethics, etiquette in the name of comedy. Comedy in the altar for what? Is jesting preaching the gospel or ministering to the oppressed and needy? Comedy for what?
The on- going mockery in the name of comedy is one of Satan induced activities of the end time to undermine the integrity of God’s word and to ensnare Christian believers from proclaiming the life changing gospel of Jesus Christ. What this comedian does to ridicule the gospel, Church and Pastoral ministry can not be done against Islam without receiving instant justice. The Bible warn,” Now therefore, do not be mockers, lest your bonds be made strong; For I have heard from the Lord God of hosts, A destruction determined even upon the whole earth” (Isa.28:22) Don’t sit “in the assembly of the mockers” (Jer.15:17). Blessed is the man …. who do not sit in the seat of the scornful”(Ps.1:1). The mockery of the Church and Pastors’ ministerial practices in the name of comedy is a sign of the end times and coming judgment on jesters and all those who take pleasure in bringing comedians to the altar of God’s presence to mock at and denigrate.
In the Old Testament, it does happen that when God sent out His messengers, some in the name of earning a living mocked God’s messengers and were judged. “And the Lord God of their fathers sent warnings to them by His messengers, rising up early and sending them, because He has compassion on His people and on His dwelling place. But they mocked the messengers of God, despised His words, and scoffed at His prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against His people, till there was no remedy” (2 Chron.. 36:15-16).
The Bible speaks: “Let there be no dirty stories, foul talks and coarse jokes these are not for you. Instead, remind each other of God’s goodness and be thankful”(Eph. 5:3-4, TLB). Comedians’ talks are dirty coarse jokes, it does not build, it ridicules and offends God. It is inspired by Satan to undermine the gospel and the integrity of God’s word. Christians, Churches and Pastors must put a stop to the breach and should not allow jesters, comedians make mockery of our faith and precious heritage the sure word of hope, life and eternity.
Comedians should stop the mockery of the Church and Pastors less the judgment of God comes. Same to Pastors and Christians who bring comedians into church pulpit or altar to denigrate the Gospel, Church and pastoral ministry.
