Former National President, Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Alumni Association, Opu-Senibo Marshal Jack Tolofari gave thanks to God for taking care of the association from the inception till today.
Senibo said this shortly after the association’s convention at the Amphi theatre Hall of RSUST, adding that the association passed through difficult times.
He explained that when he was the president they were just eight years from school, then they were active but not effective.
According to him, they were not having money to contribute for projects as majority were not yet employed and those having something doing have not got the financial stand to bring money in to the association.
He expressed his gratitude saying that today the story has changed, and good things are beginning to happen.
Comparing the time of the inception and now once again, he said they were not having cars but now they are mobile and they can conveniently pursue the needs of the body.
Tolofari in his speech opined that the body will embark on infrastructures mostly for their Alma mater.
Jack who played the chairman’s role at the convention, expressed hope for better tomorrow for their alma mater and said that those who the body chose to honour during the convention are men who assisted the association in their different capacities and not their zones and that they were assessed by the national executive council using their criteria and found them fit for the award. ###
