The New Jerusalem Sacred Cherubim and Seraphim Church of Nigeria and Overseas, Ikwerre District Council, has concluded its 2011 annual harvest thanksgiving with a call on Nigerians to inculcate the culture of showing gratitude to God by appreciating him bountifully for his mercy and love for mankind.
Delivering a sermon titled, “He who soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully, on Sunday, November 27, 2011, the host minister, Snr. Supritendent, Apostle, Dr. Alexander W. Dimkpa JP, the Supervisor of the New Jerusalem Sacred Cherubim and Seraphim Adanta Parish, Isiokpo, described harvest as an important thing in life, stressing that it was a period to show appreciation to God Almighty who has made good things possible for every living creature in the universe.
According to him, “Some persons have gone to bed and died in their sleep, some died in accident. God gave us food, clothes and made things possible for us. The harvest period is the time to appreciate and give him the glory for the good things he has for us”.
He enjoined Nigerians to give bountifully to God, the best of their fruits, farm products and goods with a pure heart.
The clergy man who sited Genesis 1.4 in the scripture to buttress his argument, narrated the story of Cain and his brother Abel.
He said God commended Abel’s gift and condemned Cain’s gift which made Cain to kill his junior brother at the field.
Apostle Dimkpa who noted that it was against the scripture to kill, cheat and do all ungodly things in the sight of God, advised Christians to always follow good friends and do the right things in the sight of God, to receive his blessing.
Apostle Dimkpa disclosed that the new Jerusalem Sacred Cherubim and Seraphim church was established in 1982 and that he joined the church on a divine call.
According to him, “I was a business man who deal on petroleum, when God called me to be his prophet. When I went to treat a sick man in a church, a prophet, Prophet Ajere, known as Dey Nneme, prophesied to me that I would be a prophet. At first I could not take it seriously, but later I was given three signs which made me to agree with the revelation and established the church in 1982. Since that day till date my life has improved. I heal the sick, perform miracles, break barriers, among others through the help of God.
Apostle Dimkpa who disclosed that there are challenges in every situation, noted that the challenges the church has was that some members after worshipping for a while, divert to other churches.
He advised members to know that God is not a God of majority or where there is gold, that Jesus Christ was born in the house of animals and in a manger, yet he is the king of all kings.
He advised that they should change their minds and worship in the sacred Cherubim and Seraphim church with a pure heart. ###
