Wonders they say will never end. This saying came to light on Thursday, November 24, 2011, at Ikwerre street, Mile one, Diobu, Port Harcourt, in the morning at about 5:50 am, as the cry of a lady woke residents of No. 5 Ikwerre street to her rescue.
The Newswriter reporter who happened to be on a different mission caught the attention of residents of Ikwerre street causing commotion in the street because of what had transpired, which made our reporter to be curious to know what really happened.
Our reporter immediately went to ascertain the cause of the confusion and heard news of a lady turning to a cat in the street.
However, the lady had been taken away by her People before the arrival of our reporter.
Investigation revealed that the lady was in a church night vigil somewhere at Akokwa by Iloabuchi (church name not disclosed). After intensive morning prayers from the church members, the victim, Oluchi, about 32 years old, from Igbo, could not withstand the heat of the mighty power of God and without wasting time requested to ease herself.
She was shown the bathroom to easy herself, only to discover that Oluchi had transformed to a cat and disappeared from the bathroom, leaving her slippers behind in the bathroom.
Unknown to the church members, Oluchi after taking the form of a cat was crawling through the gutter, running from Ilaobuchi through Ikwerre street, where she finally transformed into her real human being form.
Having laboured for so long from the gutter, her strength had failed her and she shouted for help, which woke the residents of No. 5 Ikwerre street.
Oluchi had four children and was said to be leaving in Ovim street, in Mile three are of Diobu, Port Harcourt, Rivers state.
According to an eye witness who narrated what he saw, he met Oluchi with lots of people gathered at the point (No. 5 Ikwerre Street gutter) where she transformed back to her human real self, begging for help as it would have not have been possible for the 32 year mother of four children to come out of the gutter, if not for the assistance of three young men who broke the slabs of the gutter to get her out.
Oluchi, was also confirmed by a lady who sat close to her in the said church where she escaped from the heat of God. Her sister who was contacted without wasting time to cover the ugly story, whisked her away in a taxi to ward off the embarrassment.
As at the time of filing in this report, nothing is heard of Oluchi but rumours had it that her sisters without delay had taken Oluchi out of the sight. No one knows whether out of Port Harcourt or whether she is being kept in a place out of reach within Port Harcourt.
Those who witnessed the gutter where she was found transformed from cat to human form are of the opinion that those sisters that took her away telling her not to say anything to anybody from the public, are all colleagues of hers in the same practice, considering the way they behaved before them.
This reporter made frantic effort to know the church where she was during the night vigil to get more facts to no avail.
Subsequent revelations would be reported accordingly. ###
