The Land Of No Waste

The Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency, RSSDA, abhors waste as much as nature abhors vacuum.
That would be the impression on the mind of anyone that takes a tour round the massive Songhai Farm Initiative, located at BunuTai, in Tai local government area of Rivers State.
A total of 314 hectares of land, about 9.5 km in circumference, the Songhai project that turns every waste into useful project, be it the urine and excreta of their workers, the droppings of their birds and animals, if replicated in every state of the nation, could sustain the entire 150 million citizens and still have enough for export.
Such is the grandeur that meets the eye, as journalists took three hours to walk round a little segment of the Sanghai farm under the guidance of Mr. Godfrey Godfrey, the Production Manager of the project that began in February 2010, now employing about 40 staff and about 70 casual workers.
The Newswriter will present to its reading public, what goes on in the farm, next week.
