As usual, we are out this edition to wet your appetite with a sports living legend of our times, as our grassroots sports personality of the week. A proud son of Rivers State, an embodiment of humility with unassuming character down to earth, a role model to today’s upcoming sports younger generation. A great footballer, handballer and volleyball star who within the space of time in his existence has made Rivers State proud, his local government, his immediate family and the society as a whole.
He is the pride of today’s younger generation upcoming sports stars, in all ramifications, both as a sports personality and social public life.
For his pedigree in sports, a gold medalist, most valuable player in handball, volleyball, football cum highest goal scorer in many competitions. He deserved to make The Newswriter grassroots sports personality of the week.

Captain Bauchi 1987, 1987 to 1990, three times Goldalist Government cup for Phalga, captain 1st ever 5-aside football competition R/S 1992 (captain) first winning youth team coach U-13 YSFON 3 times, also YSFON national silver medalist, Nuga 1991/92 most valuable player/highest goal scorer for Uniport 1989 Eastern cup competition gold medalist.
Achievements: Team coach to various youth sides, captain R/S volleyball, handball and soccer team most valuable player and highest goal scorer in all his competitions gained invitation to national team, sharks, Enyimba, Kwara United.

Sport loving folks all hail the legend of our generation. Araba as he is fondly called won the most recognized sports excellent award from Prof. Kelsey Harrison, VC Uniport for his consistency.
Highest goal scorer and most valuable player award in Uniport. Araba is currently the chairman of two prestigious senior club sides in Port Harcourt, Ambassador and Premier Allstars. He is also the man that has single-handed helped the Rivers State House of Assembly Football Team under the speakership of Rt. Hon. Amaechi and in the two Nigerian Bar Association games. He maintained his goal scoring form to maintain the most valuable player award, making Rivers state famous in that regard.
A good football manager, coach, educationist, had authored several articles on youths and sports in a bid to add to societal change for the better.
