Oginigba Monarch Crowns Chiefs

The Igwugwu Oha 1, Paramount Ruler of Oginigba, HRH Eze Amb. (Dr.) Gershon Bekwele Odum (JP) has crowned new chiefs to assist in the leadership of his community.
The coronation which marked the 17th installation anniversary/1st installation anniversary of his cabinet chiefs and installation of new chiefs on Saturday, October 30, 2011, took the community into a new level of leadership.
The new chiefs were, Chief Richard Amadi, the Okechi 1 of Okeah family, Chief Gold Ebere Eriri, Nwene Toro Ogologo 1 of Oginigba, Chief Philemon Nwenenda Amadi, the Chimenieze 1 of Oginigba, Chief Collins Odum, the Eyika 1 of Oginigba Odum, and chief Joseph Badu Buotu, Iwikwokwo 1 of Oginigba.
Others are, Chief Richard Omere Ibe, Akubueze 1 of Oginigba and a foreigner from Italy, chief Purtorio Marco, the Ugo 1 Oginigba.
In his address, the royal father who called for unity of his people including his opponents said it would be good for them to work in unity for the community to go forward.
He narrated his journey to the kingship of the community, tracing it to December 16, 1994, by HRM. Eze, Amb. Sir, Dr. Frank Eke, JP, Eze Oha Evo II of Evo kingdom, an event that marked a turning point in the history of Oginigba.
He said His Majesty installed him Igwugwu Oha 1, paramount ruler of Oginigba, which led to the community’s moving forward.
He has it that it was not easy as there were court cases upon court cases which finally ended in his favour.
The highness gave thanks to God for all his achievements recorded throughout his 17 years on the throne, stating that communities with one or two companies had recorded crisis that led to lose of lives and destruction of properties, but such things have not happened in his communities.
Several People in the community commended the Paramount ruler for giving a chieftaincy title to the Italian, saying that he deserved it in every respect. ###
