The captain of Port Harcourt Golf club of recent, Captain Eddy, has been so busy that one wonders, whether he has the slightest time for his personal affairs, as he has consecutively hosted two championships which ran through the past two weeks.
Even as on 11th November the able, tireless captain will still host the rest of the nation golfers, again for another explosive Nigerian Breweries limited sponsored amateur open golf championship, at the Port Harcourt club golf section 1928.
The championship is expected to last from 11th 13th November, 2011. This implies that the captain is focused and purposeful to see that golf measures up with the game of football, as it is the most accepted and followed game among the sporting events in the globe.
In an earlier chat with The Newswriter sports desk, the ever amiable captain of the Port Harcourt club 1928 golf section, Unuekhai Eddy, disclosed that he is expecting more than 200 to 250 golfers all over Nigeria to compete for honours and friendship.
In his words “I believe that the championship will foster unity and friendship among golfers in the various golf clubs in Nigeria. This will further put the Port Harcourt golf club in a high pedal lane, as one club that could promote friendship and accommodate all golfers within Nigeria. The championship is an open amateur championship which means countries within Africa too could partake”, he said.
Expectedly, other African country golfers too may try their skill in the sport come 11-13 November 2011, at the Port Harcourt club 1928 golf section.
According to Captain Eddy, interesting prizes are in the waiting to be carted home by deserving winners. The sponsors are on their toes to ensure that all who participated in the championship goes home happy, meaning no golfer who participated will go home with empty hand.
The juicy prizes according to the sponsors will be one in town, never been presented to golf since the inception of the golfers section, as they are out to make the championship memorable in the lives of all golfers that will be part of the Nigerian Breweries Limited packaged Golf Championship.
Captain Eddy said he attributed his achievements with the Port Harcourt club 1928 golf section to God and his fellow golfers who had given him their tremendous support to see the section achieve all what is achieved by his tenure. ####
