It was professor Chinua Achebe, the famous Nigerian author, who in his book, “The Arrow of God”, said, “no matter how many spirits plotted a man’s death, it must come to nothing unless his personal God puts hand in the deliberation.”
This proverbial words of Achebe was applicable to Dr. Innocent Inimgba, a medical Practitioner and the husband of Hon. Mrs. Irene M. Inimgba a lawmaker representing Port Harcourt Constituency II at the state House of Assembly and the deputy Chief whip of the House, who cheated death after being attacked by a strange ailment which took him abroad for a surgical operation.
Dr. Innocent Inimgba earlier this year, was unconscious after being attacked by a serious ailment and was flown abroad for a surgical operation which was successful and returned toNigeriain good health condition.
His thanksgiving ceremony kicked off at the Bethel Anglican Church, Amadi-Ama, Port Harcourt LGA, recently.
Several dignitaries, including the Speaker of the Rivers state of House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Otelemaba Dan. Amachree, Hon. Chidi Julius Lloyd, a lawmaker representing Emohua Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Onari Brown of Akuku Toru constituency 1, Hon. Victoria Nyeche Wobo, Phalga Constiteucy1, Hon. Mrs. Maureen Tamuno, former lawmaker and now chairman of Ogu-Bolo LGA, Hon. Isaac Kamalu, former lawmaker representing Eleme Constituency, Chief Azubuike Nmerukini, former Mayor of Port Harcourt and chairman of Rivers State local Government Service Commission, medical practitioners, nurses and a host of others, were at Tammy Lodge, Amadi-Ama, Port Harcourt City, where the family celebrated his successful surgical operation abroad and his wife Hon. Mrs. Irene Inimgba’s victory at the just concluded Rivers State House of Assembly general election.
In a chat with journalists at the ceremony, Dr. Innocent Inimgba, the chief celebrant, disclosed that the ceremony was organized to thank God and celebrate with his friends and well wishers for his successful surgical operation abroad and his wife, Hon. Mrs. Irene Inimgba’s victory despite his absence during the election.
He described his wife as a performer who has proved her performances in view of her various developmental projects embarked upon during her first tenure in office, rating her as the best performing legislator and expressed hope that she will do more in her second missionary journey.
In their separate speeches, Mr. Reginald Imimgba, the junior brother of the celebrant, Chief Olisa Emeka, among others, thanked God for performing a wonderful miracle for the chief celebrant and his wife. They rejoiced with them and prayed that God would give them long life and protection. ####
